About Our Presenters:

Pianpian Xu Guthrie

Pianpian Guthrie received her Master's Degrees in sociology from Yale University with a thesis on social mobility and psychological well-being. She was a teaching and research fellow in social science at Yale and Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.

She led product management and growth at multiple tech companies such as GoDaddy and Ticketmaster before founding Amotions, Inc, a startup to help improve managers’ and teams' performance and information sharing with AI-powered coaching and upskilling.

Silicon Valley-based Pianpian is originally from rural China. She studied and lived in China and Japan. She performed and competed in Chinese folk dance and ballroom dance.  

Michelle Emblem

Michelle has been with Sterling Administration for 13 years and in the Consumer Directed Benefits industry for 27 years. Her focus is operations and compliance of POPs, FSAs, HRAs, Nondiscrimination Testing, ERISA Wrap Plans, Form 5500 filings, ACA Reporting, and FMLA administration.

Maxwell Schmitz

Max is the CEO of Yetworth Insurance Solutions and Dingo Technologies, Inc. He wrote ‘Planting the Seed: 20 Ways to Preserve Your Yetworth,’ co-authored ‘The Questions and Answers on Disability Insurance Workbook’ and was the 2022 recipient of the William "Bill" Barrett Distinguished Service Achievement Award. Max earned his Master’s degree in Financial Services through the American College and has been a guest lecturer at the University of California, Berkeley and Santa Cruz Extension campuses. He is a frequent speaker at insurance and financial planning events.
